Lister Petter’s Head Office is based in Teignmouth, South Devon, where Sales, Accounting and Administrative functions are carried out. Spare parts distribution is also based from this site through our sister company Sleeman & Hawken Ltd, where daily shipments are exported all over the world.
The engine production is carried out at a modern 20,000sqft facility in Lister Petter’s home county of Gloucestershire. A sophisticated stores facility includes two motorised carousels and a sub-assembly area to improve the speed of picking components.
Lister Petter have three dedicated production lines – one for the water cooled Alpha range (LPW), one for the air cooled TR range, and another for gensets powered by these two engines. Every single engine proceeds through the test cell, and is tested at various different loads for 40 minutes, as per Lister Petter’s long established test procedure that has been in place for decades. The engine is then painted to customer specification, before ‘Special Fit’ – the fitting of customer specific accessories such radiators/heat exchangers, starters/alternators/stop solenoids, and different drive options. If the engine does not head to our genset line to be assembled into a genset, it is packed awaiting final shipment.
